Barnard lives in Barnes (where his Garibaldi novels are set) and when not writing cheers himself by watching QPR and listening to Leonard Cohen. According to his website he has few claims to fame, but counts playing football with Nick Hornby, giving Clare Balding interview practice, teaching members of Mumford and Sons and Noah and The Whale, having lunch with George Best and nearly being recruited as a spy as some of his most significant achievements. He has written a number of novels including ‘No Regrets’ (2013), ’10 Things To Do Before You Leave School’ (2019) and two crime novels in the DI Garibaldi series, ‘The Final Round’, and ‘Private Lessons’. The third book in the series, ‘Every Trick in the Book’, was published in February 2024.

Barnes Osteopaths opened in 2007 and has grown into an established family-centred practice treating people of all ages. Using over 20 years of experience, our practitioners treat a diverse range of community members, from babies upwards. Whilst we specialise in Women’s Health and Babies and Children, we also manage Musculoskeletal and Men’s Health issues. We can help with pre and postnatal care, menopause, painful periods and incontinence, sprains, strains, post-operation recovery and other injuries.
Our approach is patient-centred, characterised by thoroughness and professionalism. Each treatment is meticulously tailored to address your specific needs and the nuances of your concern. We take pride in ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the underlying causes, endeavouring to treat the issue, not just the symptoms. To aid in managing longer-term or systemic problems, we also collaborate with allied health professionals such as GPs and consultants to deliver optimal treatment.

Robert Woolfe is a qualified London Blue Badge Guide, City of London Guide and City of Westminster Guide and has the Freedom of the City of London. London is one of the great cities of the world, once capital of Roman Britain, now a global commercial centre. In the City centre, the Square Mile, medieval lanes, hidden alleys, cutting edge modern architecture, beautiful churches, limitless literary associations and the River Thames, London’s river of liquid history, all have stories of people who left their mark on the City. Robert volunteers at Westminster Abbey showing the Abbey to students and children creating interest in its fascinating history, architecture and its Royal role.

Event Details
Originally from the United States, Jason Sandy is an architect and developer who moved to London in 2007. He discovered mudlarking in 2012 and has contributed to many articles and books on mudlarking, as well as lecturing, appearing on national television, and having an active presence on social media. Jason’s most thrilling find is a Roman hair pin, made of ornately carved bone, and dating back to 50-100 AD, just seven years after the foundation of the Roman settlement in London. It is now on permanent display in the Museum of London. However he has also done some mudlarking on the foreshore right outside the Bulls Head and will tell us all about his finds.
